Bocchi the Rock! Re Re Surprises with New Trailer

The anime series based on Aki Hamaji‘s manga, “Bocchi the Rock!“, continues to keep fans in anticipation of its second compilation film, titled “Bocchi the Rock! Re Re.” On this occasion, the anime’s official media has shared a new promotional video for the upcoming compilation film, which also features a preview of the film’s main theme, “Seiza ni Naretara,” performed by Kessoku Band, the main group from “Bocchi the Rock!

It’s important to mention that, with the film’s premiere in Japan, the second movie of “Bocchi the Rock!” will give a special gift to early attendees: a manga drawn by Aki Hamaji titled “Bocchi the Rock! Epigraph 2,” which will be distributed on the movie’s premiere day.

The second compilation film of the anime “Bocchi the Rock!” is scheduled to premiere in Japanese cinemas on the upcoming 9th of August this year. Moreover, we should not forget that the first compilation film of this anime series, “Bocchi the Rock! Re“, achieved significant success.

The first anime film, “Bocchi the Rock! Re“, sold 140,000 tickets and grossed ¥218,470,888, approximately 1.38 million usd, in just its first three days of screening. This first film also featured an opening theme titled “Tsukinami ni Kagayaki“, which was also sung by Kessoku Band, where Ai Higuchi wrote the lyrics, Otoha composed the music, and Ritsuo Mitsui arranged it.

The manga “Bocchi the Rock!” began its publication in the Manga Time Kirara magazine, which belongs to Houbunsha Publishing, since December 2017 and currently has 6 compiled volumes released. The work written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji received a good reception from readers, leading Houbunsha to announce at the beginning of 2021 an anime adaptation for the manga. This adaptation premiered on Japanese television on October 8, 2022, consisting of a total of 12 episodes. The series was produced by the renowned animation studio CloverWorks and was legally and simultaneously streamed in many other countries through the Crunchyroll platform.

What is “Bocchi the Rock!” about?

This story introduces us to Hitori “Bocchi” Gotou, a lonely and socially anxious high school student, who finds her way to friendship and a passion for music. Despite having certain problems when it comes to interacting with people, Bocchi has an innate talent for playing the guitar, something that has led her to be known as “GuitarHero” from her videos posted online.

A twist of fate leads her to meet Nijika Ijichi, a charismatic drummer who invites her to join Kessoku Band. This encounter marks the beginning of an incredible musical adventure for Bocchi. With a desire to overcome her fears and find her place on stage, Bocchi embarks on a journey filled with emotions, challenges, and learning.

As Bocchi delves into the world of music, she meets Ryou Yamada, a talented bassist, and together they form a special bond through their shared love for music. Despite the obstacles and difficulties they face, the girls support each other and find the strength to overcome their insecurities while pursuing their dream of performing live.
