According to a Twitter leaker known as @WSJ_manga, it appears that Chainsaw Man season 2 is currently in the production stage. The leaker also mentioned that a movie adaptation is in the works. However, it is crucial to emphasize that this information has not been officially confirmed by reliable sources such as MAPPA or the official Twitter page of the Chainsaw Man anime and manga series.

So far, the anime series has explored four main story arcs: the Introduction arc, Bat Devil arc, Eternity Devil arc, and Katana Man arc. Considering that the first season consisted of only 12 episodes, it is highly likely that Chainsaw Man season 2 will also follow suit with 12 episodes.

These aforementioned arcs encompass a total of 39 chapters, indicating that each episode covers slightly over 3 chapters on average. With this in mind, the upcoming season could potentially adapt the next three story arcs: the Bomb Girl arc, International Assassins arc, and Gun Devil arc.

Regarding the animation studio, it is improbable that there will be a change, as the first season of the anime received high praise for its art style, despite the significant use of CGI. Therefore, it is expected that MAPPA will continue to animate the next season, ensuring top-notch production for the second installment of the anime and manga series.
