On the official website for the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Kaoru Shinozaki and illustrated by KWKM, “Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells” (“Hazurewaku no Joutai Ijou Skill de Saikyou ni Natta Ore ga Subete wo Juurin suru made“), the first promotional video for the project was recently revealed. The video confirms the production team, as well as the voice cast, and announces the project’s premiere for the Summer 2024 season (July – September in Japan), allowing us to enjoy a snippet of the opening theme, titled “HAZURE“, performed by Chogakusei.
It was in June 2018 that Shinozaki began publishing the original light novels through OVERLAP‘s Comic Gardo service. The following year, in 2019, a manga adaptation also began publication in Comic Gardo, featuring illustrations by Shou Yoshi.
Production Team
- Michio Fukuda (Terra Formars: Revenge, Tesla Note, Destiny Child) is directing at Seven Arcs Studios in collaboration with Synergy SP.
- Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun, Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru, Kakkou no Iinazuke) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Kana Hashidate (Dog Days’, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: Reflection) is responsible for character design.
- Tatsuhiko Saiki (Kanojo mo Kanojo, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior) is handling the music composition.

Synopsis
“Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells” centers on the story of a young man named Mimori Touka, whose quest for vengeance transforms him from a scorned magician into a formidable force. After being summoned to a fantasy world along with his classmates, who are all endowed with magical powers to fight as heroes, Mimori finds himself marginalized. Assigned only low-level skills, he appears weak and insignificant, leading to his cruel exile by those who summoned him. Left to perish in a forest teeming with dangers, Mimori’s tale could have ended there—but his desire for revenge becomes his driving force.
Refusing to succumb to his fate, Mimori discovers that his so-called weak skills can be wielded in extraordinarily powerful ways. Ingeniously using a simple ice spell to set lethal traps and manipulating light to outsmart foes, he not only survives but begins to thrive. As he overcomes obstacles and defeats monsters, Mimori harnesses the true potential of his powers, crafting a new identity for himself as a dark avenger in this fantasy realm.
As Mimori’s power grows, so does his influence. His journey of vengeance leads him to others who have also been overlooked and underestimated.
