Fallout from Prime Video is a Total Hit!

April 14, 2024

Without a doubt, we can affirm that we have recently seen a significant number of live-action adaptations of video games, whether in feature film or series format. And, undoubtedly, Fallout has been one of the productions that has garnered the most attention lately. We all know that its eight episodes are available on Prime Video—that’s not news—but we do want to mention that, as expected, by now many fans and gamers have fully enjoyed the post-apocalyptic series and have not held back in sharing their opinions, which leads us to the topic of this article.

Trying not to digress, let’s say that Bethesda and Amazon can be more than satisfied with the reception from both critics and audiences. For instance, on Rotten Tomatoes, 86% of viewers recommend watching it, while at the same time, more than 94% of the press has expressed positive reviews about Fallout. As we knew beforehand, among the current top series based on video games are titles like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, The Last of Us, and Arcane. Now, Fallout from Prime Video has joined their ranks.

The Fallout series, based on the post-apocalyptic universe of the Bethesda-owned franchise, has simply charmed players. Of course, it’s much easier to feel “immersed” in a story if we are already familiar with its context, or have some information about its world, characters, or motives, and certainly, the fact that the adaptation or recreation of the game saga’s universe is faithful and respectful greatly contributes to understanding the story told in the series and beginning to empathize with its characters. And we must mention that, even if you haven’t played the game saga, the series is captivating and equally enjoyable.

We could assert that there is a general consensus regarding the positive reception of Fallout. Expressed by more than one fan on social networks, “…It’s hard not to get excited when seeing the inside of Vault 33 for the first time, and exploring the Wasteland in all its glory…”, a statement with which we undoubtedly identify. The first two episodes have been considered virtually a tribute to all its fans, and even those non-gamers familiar with the story.

So yes, guys, it seems that Amazon Prime Video and Bethesda have done it. The final product is 100% enjoyable in many ways, and as you have read here, it’s not just our opinion, but the general opinion, both from the community and the critics. Fallout is a series that truly is unmissable, so if you haven’t seen it, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Whether you have seen it or not, or are familiar with the Fallout universe, we invite you to leave your opinion in the comments, or your best experiences enjoying your adventures through the Wasteland in any of its versions. You know gamer, we’ll be reading! 😉
