Fate/strange Fake – Whispers of Dawn- TV Anime Trailer Reveals

During its stage event at AnimeJapan 2023, Aniplex disclosed new details about the television anime special of Ryohgo Narita’s Fate/strange Fake spinoff story, Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-. Aniplex shared a new trailer and announced that the anime will have its world premiere in Los Angeles during summer, followed by its Japanese TV premiere on July 2 on Tokyo MX and BS11. However, Aniplex did not provide any additional information about the Los Angeles premiere event.

Aniplex of America first announced the Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- television anime special during the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 in September. However, the scheduled airing on December 31 was postponed due to production issues. The anime special is expected to have a simultaneous release with English subtitles and dubbing overseen by Aniplex of America.

Japanese and English Cast

Ayaka Sajyō will be voiced by Kana Hanazawa and Anjali Kunapaneni. Saber will be voiced by Yūki Ono and Ben Balmaceda. Archer will be voiced by Tomokazu Seki and David Vincent. Lancer will be voiced by Yū Kobayashi and Marin Miller. Tiné Chelc will be voiced by Sumire Morohoshi, and Tsubaki Kuruoka will be voiced by Aoi Koga. Orlando Reeve will be voiced by Wataru Hatano, and Caster will be voiced by Showtaro Morikubo. Flat Escardos will be voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Berserker will be voiced by Kenyuu Horiuchi. Jester Karture will be voiced by Tatsumaru Tachibana, and Assassin will be voiced by Lynn. Francesca Prelati will be voiced by Maaya Uchida, Faldeus Dioland will be voiced by Junya Enoki, Langal will be voiced by Shunsuke Sakuya, and Lord El-Melloi Ⅱ will be voiced by Daisuke Namikawa.

The Staff

A-1 Pictures is producing the Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- television anime special, with Shun Enokido (known for directing Fate/Grand Order commercials and Flip Flappers episodes) and Takahito Sakazume (known for directing Fate/Grand Order commercials and Fate/Apocrypha episodes) as directors. The script is written by Daisuke Daitō (known for Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers). Yūkei Yamada (known for Fate/Apocrypha) is the character designer and chief animation director. The music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano (known for Attack on Titan and Mobile Suit Gundam UC), while his vocal project SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Laco is contributing the theme song “FAKEit.”

The original Fate/strange Fake story was first published as an April Fool’s joke by Ryohgo Narita (known for Baccano! and Durarara!!) in April 2008. Narita later expanded the story into a Fate/strange Fake supplement for the Type-Moon Ace Vol. 2 magazine and eventually into a full-fledged light novel series illustrated by Shizuki Morii, which launched in January 2015. Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint published the seventh light novel volume in February. Morii has also been simultaneously drawing the manga adaptation.
