As many of you surely remember, at the end of the last episode of the first season of the anime adaptation of the manga “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses” (“Megami no Café Terrace“), written and illustrated by the talented Kouji Seo, the official media announced the exciting news: the story of “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses” would continue in a second season!… More than 7 months have passed since then, and fortunately for its fan community, the official media have finally revealed new information, along with a promotional trailer, confirming, among other things, its premiere for July of this 2024.
This popular anime adaptation of the manga “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses” premiered on Japanese TV on April 7, 2023, and consisted of a total of 12 episodes. The production was handled by Tezuka Productions animation studio, with Satoshi Kuwabara directing, and it was legally and simultaneously broadcast in other countries through the Crunchyroll platform.

Synopsis of “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses”
The story centers on Hayato Kasukabe, a young man who moves to Tokyo to attend university with the hope of leading a normal college life. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he receives news that his grandmother, with whom he had lost contact, has passed away. Upon returning to his hometown to attend the funeral, Hayato discovers that his grandmother was the owner of a café called “Café Terrace Familia“. To his surprise, the café is managed by five beautiful young women who consider themselves “family” due to the kindness and care that Hayato‘s grandmother provided them in the past.
Hayato‘s grandmother’s will stipulates that he is the new owner of the “Café Terrace Familia“. Although he is initially determined to sell the café and return to his life in Tokyo, the passion and dedication of the girls for the café and the memories of his grandmother make him hesitate. The young women, each with their own unique personality and skills, try to convince Hayato to keep the café open. As he spends more time with them, Hayato begins to appreciate the value of the café not just as a business, but also as a home for an unconventional family.
Throughout the story, Hayato and the girls face various challenges to keep the café afloat, from unfair competition to personal issues that threaten to break up their newly formed family. As Hayato becomes more involved in the life of the café and its residents, he realizes that his grandmother has left him something more valuable than just a business: an opportunity to build meaningful relationships and find a purpose in life. “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses” is a delightful mix of comedy, romance, and drama, exploring the importance of family, friendship, and following one’s dreams.
