On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Rikachi, “Nina the Starry Bride” (“Hoshifuru Oukoku no Nina“), the first promotional video has been revealed, which, in addition to looking extremely promising, also introduces its production team, part of its voice cast, and confirms its premiere for the Fall 2024 season (October-December) in Japan.
“Nina The Starry Bride” is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rikachi. The series began serialization in Kodansha‘s Be Love magazine in October 2019. Since then, it has gained popularity both in Japan and internationally. The author, Rikachi, is known for her detailed drawing style and her ability to weave stories of romance and drama. Before “Nina The Starry Bride,” Rikachi worked on several other manga projects, but this series is, to date, one of her most recognized works. The series stands out for its fantasy setting and its focus on themes of politics, identity, and love.
The “Nina The Starry Bride” manga has been compiled into several tankōbon volumes, with more than 10 volumes published to date. The series has been licensed for English publication by Kodansha USA since April 2021, which has helped to expand its reach to a global audience. Additionally, the manga has received positive reviews for its intriguing plot and well-developed characters. “Nina The Starry Bride” was nominated in the 46th edition of the Kodansha Manga Awards in the Best Shōjo Manga category in 2022.

Synopsis
“Nina The Starry Bride” is a story that mixes drama, fantasy, and romance in a context of political intrigue and power struggles. The protagonist, Nina, is a young woman who has lived a difficult life, surviving on the streets and stealing to support herself and her adopted siblings. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she is sold as a slave and ends up being chosen to replace the deceased priestess princess Alisha of the Stella Kingdom.
