In addition to the new season confirmation, the addition of two new voice actors was announced. Mamoru Miyano (known for his work in Death Note and Steins;Gate) will bring Hikaru Kamiki to life, while Hina Kino (recognized for her roles in Asobi Asobase and Uma Musume) will play Tsukuyomi.

“I never thought I could appear in Oshi no Ko, so it’s a great honor. I hope to appreciate the worldview of this series that so many people are looking forward to while I take on my role as the mysterious and enigmatic ‘Hikaru Kamiki’.”

“Thank you for watching the final episode! I’m Hina Kino, and I voice Tsukuyomi. Even though I voiced her, it was quite challenging because there were many things I didn’t know about her, but I paid attention to the gap between her childlike appearance and the words she uses when voicing her. Oshi no Ko is a series where various elements overlap and combine to create an increasingly fascinating story. Stay tuned for the developments the future holds!”

Synopsis

Oshi no Ko begins with the story of Ai Hoshino, a young and talented 16-year-old idol whose life seems like a dream to many of her fans. However, behind her dazzling image, she hides many lies and secrets to maintain her public persona. In her private life, Ai faces a turning point when she becomes pregnant with twins. Seeking help from Gorou Amemiya, a gynecologist who is a big fan of hers, the situation takes an unexpected turn when Gorou is murdered by a stalker obsessed with Ai. After his death, Gorou is reincarnated as one of Ai’s children, Aquamarine Hoshino, alongside his twin sister Ruby, who was also one of his patients in a previous life.

From the moment of their rebirth, Aqua and Ruby confront the realities of the entertainment world, where appearances and lies reign supreme. While Ruby dreams of becoming an idol like her mother, Aqua embarks on a dark journey of revenge, determined to uncover the identity of their biological father, whom he believes is responsible for the tragedy surrounding Ai’s life and death. As the siblings grow, they become involved in the entertainment industry from different angles: Ruby tries to revive Ai’s legacy by forming a new idol group, while Aqua uses the knowledge and skills from his past life to infiltrate the world of acting, aiming to find the person behind his family’s tragedy.

The story of Oshi no Ko delves into the complexities of the Japanese entertainment industry, showcasing the emotional challenges and struggles faced by its characters. Through Aqua and Ruby, the series explores the impact of fame, the pain of loss, and the desire for revenge. The relationship between the siblings is constantly affected by their personal goals, leading them to make morally questionable decisions in their pursuit of justice. The narrative also introduces secondary characters like Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa, who offer a broader perspective on the industry and are influenced by their own ambitions and inner conflicts.
