September 8, 2024

Much information that we have always received has been “leaked” previously by different media, and our news today is one of those cases: recently, one of these leaks assured that the video game developed by FromSoftware, “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice,” will have an anime adaptation. Although the information has not been officially confirmed, it is claimed that it will be a short-duration anime (few episodes) and that it will be produced by Qzil.la, a studio known for its short productions such as “Dainouteki na Rendezvous,” “KUROMI’S PRETTY JOURNEY,” “Eldraine no Mori: Twin Fates,” and the opening of “Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.”

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” is an action and adventure video game developed by FromSoftware and published by Activision. The game was released in March 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows platforms. Later, in 2020, a version was released for Google Stadia.

The game is set in a fictional version of Japan during the Sengoku period, a historical moment full of wars and conflicts. The player takes control of a shinobi named Wolf, also known as Sekiro (which means “One-Armed Wolf“), who seeks revenge on a samurai who attacked him and kidnapped his lord, a young heir known as the Divine Heir.

The gameplay of “Sekiro” focuses on melee combat with swords and the use of special abilities. Unlike other FromSoftware games like “Dark Souls” and “Bloodborne,” “Sekiro” does not include traditional role-playing elements such as character stats or multiplayer mode. Instead, the game focuses on precision and timing in combat, with a posture system that allows deflecting enemy attacks and counterattacking.

The video game received widespread praise for its level design, combat mechanics, artistic direction, and high difficulty. It was awarded Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019 and has been considered one of the best games of the generation. “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” is a masterpiece that combines Japanese aesthetics and culture with challenging and addictive gameplay characteristic of FromSoftware, providing a unique experience for players seeking a challenge.

Synopsis

In “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice,” the player embodies “Wolf,” a shinobi at the service of the young Kuro, heir to a powerful bloodline that grants immortality. The story begins when Wolf is defeated by Genichiro Ashina, who kidnaps Kuro with the aim of using his blood to save his clan, now weakened and under attack. During this confrontation, Wolf loses his left arm, a key event that leaves him unarmed and nearly dead. However, he is rescued by the Sculptor, who grants him a special prosthesis known as the “Shinobi Arm,” which not only replaces his lost limb but also provides him with tools and weapons that allow him to fight more efficiently.

Wolf‘s quest focuses on rescuing Kuro, but the mission is much more complex than it seems. As he progresses, Wolf uncovers dark secrets about his past and the power of Kuro‘s “Dragon Legacy,” which allows for immortality. Genichiro, desperate to save his clan, undergoes corrupt rituals to obtain immortal powers. On his journey, Wolf must face powerful characters, including ancient masters and allies, such as the Owl, his father figure, who had faked his own death and now seeks to use Kuro‘s power for his own purposes. Throughout this journey, the player must make decisions that will affect the fate of Kuro and Wolf himself, including the possibility of severing his young master’s immortal bond.

The game has multiple endings, each based on the player’s actions. In one of the outcomes, Wolf manages to perform the “Immortal Severance Ritual,” freeing Kuro from his curse, which also means his death. In another ending, Sekiro sacrifices himself to save Kuro, freeing him from his fate. Through the different outcomes, themes such as loyalty, immortality, sacrifice, and duty are explored. The use of the “Shinobi Arm” prosthesis and the abilities it offers plays a crucial role in confrontations and character development, adding an additional layer of depth to Wolf‘s personal story.

I must not ask you, surely you, like us, will be keeping an eye on any news about this project, as, despite being a leak, everything points to the veracity of the information, and if so, we will soon receive news of such a production. And now is when we ask you to stop by the comments to leave us your opinion on this, because, as you know, we will be reading you! 🙂
