“Solo Leveling” Confirms Second Season

Currently, almost every anime, manga, otaku-themed information medium is talking about “Solo Leveling,” the anime adaptation of the popular manhwa “Solo Leveling” (“Ore dake Level Up na Ken“), created by Chugong (in the form of light novels), originally published through KakaoPage starting in 2016, and adapted to webtoon since 2018 by Jang Sung-rak.

Of course, just mentioning the name “Solo Leveling” is reason enough to pay attention to any news that is spread about it. For example, recently a leak that was spread through a Korean portal focused on movements in the South Korean market, The Bell: Gateway to Capital Markets. In the article, published in February this year, mention was made of the publisher that publishes the contents of “Solo Leveling,” and after market data and corporate movements, and a series of explanations too long for this article, it was “hinted” that the production of the anime could extend up to a sixth season!

Does it seem too much for a guess based on a leak? Well, here and now we can confirm an officially announced fact: “Solo Leveling” will have a second season. Indeed, at the end of the broadcast of episode #12 of the series, this news was announced, which revolutionized the entire community. As if that were not enough, the news was also spread in the official media of the series, in addition to making public a 30-second teaser where the future installment of the franchise is also mentioned.

This adaptation of the manhwa “Solo Leveling” began its broadcast on Japanese television on January 6th. The animation studio A-1 Pictures was in charge of its production and it was legally and simultaneously broadcast in the territories of North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS through the Crunchyroll platform, which is producing a dubbing in several languages. As for its new season, we still do not have announced dates or more information, so we can only assume that the production team will be the same as the first season:

  • Shunsuke Nakashige (Megami-ryou no Ryoubo-kun, Isekai Shokudou) is in charge of directing the anime at A-1 Pictures studios.
  • Noboru Kimura (Kemono Jihen, Amagami SS) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
  • Tomoko Sudo (Fragtime) is in charge of character design and animation direction.
  • Hiroyuki Sawano (Shingeki no Kyojin, Kill la Kill) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

Synopsis of “Solo Leveling”

In the fascinating universe of “Solo Leveling“, humanity faces a world altered by the appearance of a mysterious portal that connects our reality with a realm populated by monsters and mythical beings. Among those chosen to confront these creatures, Sung Jin-Woo stands out, an E-rank hunter whose strength barely surpasses that of an ordinary human.

The plot takes an epic turn when Sung Jin-Woo and his fellow hunters are trapped in a deadly dungeon, facing challenges that defy survival. In this tense and dangerous scenario, Sung Jin-Woo emerges as the only survivor, completing all the dungeon’s trials and acquiring unique abilities.

As the story unfolds, Sung Jin-Woo discovers that he has access to an exclusive interface that provides crucial information about missions, stats, inventory, and levels. Driven by the determination to overcome each challenge, he embarks on an exciting journey to climb the ranks of hunters and become the most powerful.

This adaptation really has us biting our nails, wanting to know what will happen in the next chapter. The anime “Solo Leveling” has brought us a captivating mix of action, suspense, and adventure, allowing us to be spectators of Sung Jin-Woo‘s epic, albeit extremely challenging and overly complicated journey, making us feel that we discover and grow with him, in various aspects. And yes, we even suffer with him…
