We all remember “Assassination Classroom“, whether it’s for its charismatic teacher Korosensei, the depth of its characters, whose stories are filled with plot twists, or the sheer number of fun situations presented throughout the series. Well, this news is related to its author, Yuusei Matsui, as another of his works, in this case “The Elusive Samurai” (“Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi“), has also been adapted into anime. In fact, a new promotional video for the project has been released on its official site, which not only gives us a glimpse of the animation but also confirms its premiere on July 6th in Japan.

Synopsis
“The Elusive Samurai” is set in Japan during the Nanboku-chō period, an era marked by conflict and territorial disputes. The plot follows Hojo Tokiyuki, a young heir to the Kamakura shogunate, who is abruptly stripped of his inheritance and family due to betrayal. Despite being a child at that time, Tokiyuki is forced to flee to save his life, thus beginning a long period of evasion and survival.
Throughout his escape, Tokiyuki becomes a master of evasion, using his unique skills to avoid direct confrontation with his enemies. This ability not only defines his character but also becomes the key to his survival. As the story progresses, he gathers a diverse group of allies and followers who assist him in his quest to reclaim his legacy and confront the traitors who ruined his life. The focus on his ability to flee rather than fight provides a unique twist to the narrative, setting it apart from other samurai stories.
As Tokiyuki and his followers face various challenges, the story explores themes of loyalty, redemption, and the impact of past decisions on the present. Through these elements, “The Elusive Samurai” not only tells an exciting adventure story but also offers a reflection on human resilience and ingenuity in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversities.
This is one of those times when we tell you that “it’s just around the corner…” in this case, July 6th, so stay tuned! This story is undoubtedly one you won’t want to miss.
