That’s why, from time to time, we bring you some news about projects that will premiere a little later, such as Hibike! Euphonium, which will bring us its third season this coming April.
Kyoto Animation revealed recently some details about the third season of Hibike! Euphonium. As we already mentioned, it will arrive in April 2024, adapting the life of Kumiko in high school, and along with the announcement, a promotional poster was also shared, on which you can read “I love Kitauji” ^^
This new installment will focus on the two novels published by Ayano Takeda, the first in April and the second in June, both in 2019. In them, the band focuses again on winning the gold at the Nationals. Kumiko is the new band president, alongside her ex-boyfriend Shuuichi Tsukamoto as vice-president and Reina Kousaka as the drum major. Just like the previous year, each new freshman arrives with their own peculiarities, among them Maya Kuroe, a euphonium player from the all-girls Seira school, stands out. Maya‘s presence in the school competition circuit is formidable, as well as in Sapphire‘s former school.

Takeda originally published only one novel, but the popularity of her work led her to expand the story with several sequels, spin-offs, and collections of short stories.
In addition to the mentioned animated adaptations, Hibike! Euphonium also received a manga adaptation written by the same author, featuring illustrations by Hami. It was serialized between November 2014 and October 2015 on Takarajimasha‘s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! web and reached a total of 3 volumes.

Besides the summer band music contest, the ensemble contest usually known as “Ancón” is a place where fascinating performances are carried out. The participation of several people in a group has a different charm than a competition. The Kyoto Prefecture selects, to participate in its tournament, a representative team from the preliminary round of the school. However, with more than 50 members, the Kitauji high school band faces various problems. Kumiko, the newly appointed club director, will have to overcome the preliminary rounds!
Tell us, do you know Hibike! Euphonium? As far as we know, the internal life of bands and musical groups within schools is a world apart, with pressures and emotions that those who have not experienced it firsthand undoubtedly do not know. Come on, don’t be shy, tell us your experiences, or your opinion about this third season that is about to arrive! We will read you! 🙂
